ISU Brand Integration & Visual Consistency

DIGITAL space & SOCIAL MEDIA

The digital landscape presents a unique set of challenges for maintaining the ISU institutional identity. Because data is accessed across a vast array of mobile and screen devices, the University’s visual markers must remain unified and distinguishable.

1. Digital File Formats

When saving or exporting assets for web and mobile use, the RGB color space must always be utilized. The following formats are authorized for University use:
  • PNG (Portable Network Graphics): The preferred format for logos and the University Seal. It supports high resolution and transparency, ensuring the seal looks professional on any background.
  • JPG/JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group): Best suited for digital photography and complex imagery. It allows for file size optimization while maintaining photographic quality.
  • GIF (Graphics Interchange Format): Reserved for low-resolution graphics that require simple animation or “stickers” for ISU Website stories or contents.

2. Website Placement & Scaling

Following standard Western reading orientation, the ISU Seal or the Logotype should be positioned in the upper left-hand corner of the webpage.
  • For landing pages where the Seal is the centerpiece, it may be placed in the main content area with ample clearance (see Clear Space requirements).
  • The Scalability Rule: If the layout requires the Seal to be scaled down to a point where the text “Isabela State University” within the border becomes illegible, the VID Horizontal (Acronym) or VID Vertical configuration must be used as a replacement to ensure brand recognition.

3. Social Media Profile Specifications

To avoid pixelation or distortion, do not manually “stretch” the Seal to fit profile frames. Use only the high-resolution master files provided by the University Strategic Communications Office. The following dimensions are the current standards for ISU profile avatars:

Prohibition: DO NOT reconstruct, recolor, or add “filters” to the ISU Seal, Logotype, or the 4-Color Palette for social media trends. The integrity of the institution relies on a singular, unchanging visual voice. Never place the Seal directly over a photograph for a profile picture; it reduces legibility.

No Holiday Alterations: Do not add “Santa hats,” “party poppers,” or other seasonal graphics directly onto the Seal. These elements should be placed on the cover photo/banner instead. While the Profile Picture is the “ID Card,” the Cover Photo is the “Billboard.” For this purpose, there is a prescribed banner photo to be used by all University-attached Social Media Pages and would serve as the default cover photo. This means that the cover photo should default to this prescribed design once updates are made due to holidays or event alterations.

4. Social Media Profile Naming System

To ensure a unified “One ISU” presence across all digital landscapes, all official social media accounts representing University and Campus entities must adhere to a standardized naming convention. This system eliminates confusion, improves searchability, and reinforces the University’s institutional brand.

Official pages are digital extensions of the University. Therefore, the name must always lead with the institutional identity (ISU), the specific Campus, then followed by the functional office name.

NOTE: Only accounts following these naming conventions will be recognized as “OFFICIAL” in the University’s digital directory.

Prescribed Naming Templates

A. University-Wide Offices (System Level)

These are offices that serve the entire University system across all campuses (e.g.,
Office of the President, Admissions, Registrar).

Template:
ISU + [Office Name]
Example (Profile Name): ISU Office of the University Registrar
Example (Profile Name): ISU Office of the University Student Affairs and Services
Handle Suggestion: @isu.universityosas or @isu.universityregistrar

B. Campus-Specific Offices

For the main social media pages of Campuses, follow the standard naming system:

Template:
Isabela State University + [Campus]
Example (Profile Name): Isabela State University – San Mariano
Handle Suggestion: @isusanmariano

For offices or departments that belong to a specific campus (e.g., The Registrar’s
Office at the Echague Campus):

Template:
ISU + [Campus] – [Office/Department/College Name]
Example (Profile Name): ISU Echague – College of Agriculture
Example (Profile Name): ISU Cauayan – Office of the Campus Registrar
Handle Suggestion: @isuechague.agriculture or @isucauayan.campusregistrar

C. Student Organizations & Councils

To distinguish student-led bodies from administrative offices while maintaining the
brand:

Template:
ISU + [Campus] – [Organization’s Name]
Example (Profile Name): ISU Echague – The Forum Publication
Handle Suggestion: @isuechague.theforumstudentpublication

OFFICIAL STATIONERY & CORRESPONDENCE

The physical touchpoints of the University—letters, business cards, and official documents—are the “paper ambassadors” of the institution. To maintain a professional and unified voice, all administrative units must adhere to these layout standards. The Official Document Size of ISU is A4 (21×29.7 CM).
