The Official Seal of Isabela State University is the visual declaration of the University’s identity. It is a heraldic embodiment of the University’s mandate and commitment to the core philosophy of People, Nature, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. Every line, color, and symbol within the seal is deliberately crafted to bridge the University’s rich historical identity and heritage with its transformative, future-driven vision.
Integrity and Protection
As the primary symbol of “OneISU,” respect for the seal must be always observed, across all platforms, and for all purposes. Its integrity is absolute. The seal must never be compromised through skewing, distortion, or the addition of unauthorized elements such as drop shadows, glows, or graphical strokes. To preserve its visual authority, the seal’s colors—the deep greens and vibrant golds—must remain constant and may not be arbitrarily altered.
Heraldic Standards
In keeping with institutional tradition, the seal shall not be truncated or tampered with. It must never be used as a background watermark or have its opacity reduced in a manner that allows other elements to impinge upon its clarity. The “Torch”, “Circle Rays,” the “Gear,” and the “Weave Rope” are integral components of the institutional narrative; separating or removing them violates the seal’s symbolic unity.
Visual Narrative
Rooted in the soil of Isabela and propelled by the gears of progress, the ISU Seal serves as a silent oath of scholarship and service. By maintaining these strict visual standards, the ISU Community honors the history and evolution of the University and ensures that its identity remains a consistent, powerful, and dignified representation of a premier university in the region and beyond.
Approval of the New Seal
The Official Seal of the Isabela State University was presented, deliberated, and approved by two Administrative Council Meetings (October 20, 2025 and December 11, 2025), endorsed to the Expanded Board Committee on Finance Meeting (December 13, 2025), and subsequently referred to and approved by the ISU Board of Regents by virtue of BOR Resolution no. 114 s. 2025 at its 246th Regular Board Meeting on December 20, 2025.
The evolution of the Isabela State University (ISU) seal is a visual narrative of a “merging of histories,” reflecting its growth from a cluster of specialized schools into a unified, comprehensive institution. This transformation is not merely aesthetic; it mirrors the University’s expanding role in regional and national development, shifting from its agricultural roots to a modern “Smart-Green” University. This evolution confirms that while the seal’s look has adjusted, the change is prompted by ISU’s maturation into a comprehensive institution that wrestles with modern demands while remaining deeply rooted in its heritage.
Legacy of Integration (1978 - 2012)
The ISU seal began as a symbol of unity following Presidential Decree 1434 in 1978, which merged the Isabela State College of Agriculture (ISCA) and the Cagayan Valley Institute of Technology (CVIT), while also absorbing college courses from several other vocational and agricultural schools.
The New Seal: A Solidified Identity for the Future
The current seal, unveiled in January 2026, takes flight from these historical inspirations to solidify a new identity tailored for the technological and ecological challenges of the coming years. It is no longer just a mark of merger, but a “visual declaration” of a University ready for a transformative future.

Color Reproduction
1. Background Contrast & Outlining
The Seal is already outlined with Black strokes within the vectorized Weaved Rope and could stand out when placed on backgrounds of multiple color designs. However, the seal can be outlined Black (minimum of 1 px) to provide and ensure visibility.
2. Reverse/White Application
The seal may be rendered in ‘Reverse White,’ where all symbols and typography appear in pure white against a dark or solid color background.
3. Color Variation
For black-and-white reproduction, the designated ‘Stencil’ version of the University Seal must be used to ensure clarity and definition. It may appear in two colors: the ISU Green One-Color Production and the Outline/Stencil Version. The Stencil version is reserved exclusively for creative merchandise, digital materials, and organizational apparel. It is strictly prohibited for use on official documents, correspondence, or external communications, which must always utilize the official full-color seal.
