To celebrate the country’s culture and the arts, Isabela State University (ISU) joins the celebration of the National Arts Month with the theme, “Ani ng Sining, Bayang Malikhain”, from February 19-23, 2024.

According to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the theme for the said celebration signifies a Filipino society that places a high value on imagination, innovation, and artistic expression as integral components of our identity and progress.

With the leadership of the ISU Socio-Cultural Office, Culture and the Arts Office, Office of Student Affairs and Services, and the Supreme Student Council of ISU Echague Campus, several competitions and activities were organized for the students in lieu of the celebration such as Spoken Word Poetry, Famous Painting Re-Creation, Chalk Art Competition, and Live Band Performances.

Moreover, an art exhibition was also formally opened with the ISU officials which features the creations of artists from the Isabela Artist Circle (ISAC), one of which is Mark B. Agcaoili, an ISAC member since 2018 and a PWD artist from Ilagan City known as the “PAA” artist and the “HEART” artist of Isabela.

In his message, President Ricmar P. Aquino hoped that ISU can intensify its efforts of bringing a Bayang Malikhain which places high value on imagination, innovation, and artistry as integral components of our identity and progress.

“Let us strengthen our engagement for artistic pursuits, a vital contribution to the nation’s development and rich cultural heritage, “ President Aquino said.
