Now in its third year, Isabela State University (ISU) together with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Local Government Unit of Cauayan City ushered in the Smarter Philippines mission through the International Smart City Exposition and Networking Engagement (iSCENE) which will be held on May 22-24, 2025 at the Isabela Convention Center in Cauayan City, Isabela.

iSCENE has emerged as a platform that unites government agencies, academic institutions, industry stakeholders, and international partners to collaborate and share knowledge in building smart, resilient, livable, and sustainable communities.

This year, iSCENE 2025 carries the theme “Innovation in Action: Empowering Smart and Sustainable Communities Through Government-Academe-Industry Collaboration.” The event promises to be a transformative event, spotlighting emerging technology trends such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and startup innovations, alongside groundbreaking developments in water management, textiles, agriculture, and the circular economy. It seeks to actively engage LGUs in adopting human-centered solutions to tackle pressing community challenges, paving the way for inclusive and impactful development.

In his welcome message during the preliminary event titled, “Hack4Resilience: AI and Big Data for Disaster Risk Reduction Management”, Dr. Boyet L. Batang (University President) expressed great honor in welcoming the participants, emphasizing that the event brings together brilliant minds and passionate innovators with a common purpose of leveraging advanced technologies, especially artificial intelligence and big data, to improve disaster risk reduction, protect lives, and build more resilient communities.

“To all participants, mentors, and partners, thank you for your enthusiasm and collaboration. It is through your creativity and collective effort that we will drive meaningful innovation. Together, let us push the boundaries of technology and partnership to build a safer, more resilient future.” Dr. Batang added as he ended his message.
