Further affirming its leadership in sustainable development, ISU is among the Top 5 universities in the Philippines to contribute in the attainment of the UN SDGs through higher education and by demonstrating the University’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and transformative service to communities.

 

This recognition shows ISU’s sustained efforts to integrate sustainability into instruction, research, extension, and governance and create meaningful impact from the grassroots to the global stage.

 

Among the University’s strongest performing SDGs out of 17 submitted applications in the 2026 rankings are SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions – Rank 88), SDG 1 (No Poverty – Rank 101-200), SDG 5 (Gender Equality – Rank 101-200), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger – Rank 201-300), and SDG 4 (Quality Education – Rank 301-400).

Particularly worth noting is ISU’s outstanding performance in SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), where the University achieved a global rank of 88, placing it among the Top 100 higher education institutions in the world that advance initiatives that promote inclusive societies, accountable governance, ethical leadership, and strong institutions.
