As this year’s partner from the academe, Isabela State University commits to the enabling of smart solutions and practices in the region and country at large, by hosting 3 new R&D ventures, which are the hallmarks of iSCENE 2023.
ISU, in partnership with the DOST-02 and DOST- Philippine Textile Research Institute, is now the host of the 𝗕𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗯 which provides an R&D arm in upscalling Bamboo fibers towards the promotion of local and culture-based garments.
This will be the first innovation hub for Bamboo textile research in the whole of Northern Luzon.
The first concept of a Think-Green KIST Park will also be housed by ISU. The KIST Park envisions to create an S&T-based hub for the merging of academe-industry-government partnership in harnessing strategic community niches in boosting local economies. ISU, DOST-R02, and LGU Cauayan City is set to link with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority to put into motion the concept park.
Underscoring efforts for the MSMEs (micro-small-medium enterprises), ISU will also host the DOST-ISU Smart City Technology Business Incubation (DISC TBI) which puts forth an opportunity for small and emerging business and technology concepts related to Smart City by local enterprises to be assisted by the academe and the government. The hub will be centering on the effort to jumpstart MSMEs towards a digital-based economy.
