Showcasing its prowess as a higher education institution (HEI) in the countryside, Isabela State University (ISU) is among the Top 100 Universities in the Philippines according to the EduRank Ranking 2024.
In a roll posted by EduRank, ISU is ranked 52nd in the country, hailing ISU as the top University in the Cagayan Valley Region. This year’s standing of the University climbed two ranks higher than last year.
ISU is also listed as rank 2,884 out of 5,830 universities in Asia, and rank 7,384 out of 14,131 universities in the world, besting its standing in the same roll last year.
The said ranking by the independent metric-based ranking organization was based on three (3) factors: 45% Research Performance, 45% Non-Academic Prominence, and 10% Alumni Score.
The University’s research profile contributed greatly to its ranking with 386 published scientific papers and 1,016 citations received. The profile covers a range of fields, including Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Political Science, Medicine, Computer Science, Law, Sociology, and Engineering.
To evaluate Research Performance, EduRank uses the OpenAlez database as a proxy to retrieve scientific publications and the links between them. For Non-Academic Prominence, the organization calculates the reputation of individual web pages with data from Ahrefs as a source with the largest available index of pages and links. Lastly, Alumni Score reflects the combined number of page views that a university’s graduates and other affiliated individuals have on all 43 language versions of Wikipedia.
