Isabela State University is the new partner of the Department of Education-Schools Division of Isabela in a joint venture to advance quality education in the countryside following the official signing of partnership agreement between the institutions on Wednesday, December 21.
As DepEd-SDO Isabela unfolds its 118th Founding Anniversary, a memorandum of agreement was sealed with the University to foster collaboration between basic and higher education.
In a message of commitment, ISU President Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino laid down a promising framework to mainstream the use of homegrown technologies of the University to help upscale an economic, smarter solutions that could aid DepEd’s learning management systems.
“We have a lot of technology in the University that can be transferred and adapted by our stakeholders, especially the Department of Education. We are willing to present these to you (DepEd), if you need them, we can just transfer them without cost”, President Aquino said.
Dr. Aquino said that dialogues could be formed to set course to this venture and study its potential through a pilot project implementation.
This, according to Dr. Aquino, ensured the role of the University in the seamless transmission between basic education and higher education.
“By building upon the foundational knowledge and skills acquired in basic education, we aim to further develop and refine these abilities in higher education programs”, Dr. Aquino expounded.
As part of four-fold thrust of ISU as a delivering institution for higher education, Dr. Aquino highlights its shared mission with the DepEd-Isabela in expanding the knowledge economy in the countryside through collaborative efforts.
The leadership culture of ISU as a university, as told by Dr. Aquino, allows the institution to extend its efforts on community engagement, maximizing sectoral development especially basic education services.
“We pledge to actively support the enforcement of Child Protection Policy and anti-bullying measures in basic education, ensuring the well-being and security of every learner”, Dr. Aquino remarked.
The 118th Founding Celebration of the SDO-Isabela airs with the theme: “Sulyap sa Pamana ng Mapagkalingang Tahanan”, which was hosted by Isabela State University-San Mateo Campus.
