Isabela State University (ISU) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) officially launched the Free Wi-Fi for All program for the entire University System on February 27, 2026 at the ISU Cauayan Gymnasium.
The DICT Free Wi-Fi for All program (FreeWiFi4All), authorized under Republic Act No. 10929, provides free, fast, and secure internet access in public places nationwide, including government offices, public schools, hospitals, plazas, and transport terminals. Through this program, the government aims to promote inclusive digital access and bridge connectivity gaps in communities and institutions throughout the country.
The implementation of the program across the ISU System was made possible through the efforts of the DICT Region 02 with the support of LPGMA Partylist, led by Hon. Allan U. Ty.
Also present during the official launching were Pinky T. Jimenez (DICT Assistant Secretary for Infostructure Management and Concurrent Regional Director of Region 02), along with University officials and members of the ISU community.
In her message, Assistant Secretary Jimenez congratulated the University and encouraged the ISU community to maximize the use of the free internet provided by the government, emphasizing that the service is intended for their benefit and should be fully utilized.
Meanwhile, Dr. Boyet L. Batang (University President) expressed the University’s heartfelt gratitude for the DICT’s commitment to expand digital access and promote inclusive connectivity for the University’s 42,612 students.
“May this Free Wi-Fi program serve as a catalyst for innovation, productivity, and inclusive growth. Let us use this connectivity responsibly and meaningfully, ensuring that it becomes a tool for empowerment and progress for every beneficiary,” Dr. Batang added.
