Empowering Youth Leadership through the Puso At Talino (Heart and Technical Skills) Academy!

The Isabela State University recognizes the vital role of youth leaders in nation-building. Platforms like the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) provide avenues for the youth to express their views, formulate policies, and implement programs that affect their communities. Through the ISU’s  Puso At Talino (Heart and Technical Skills) Academy’s capacity-building program, youth leaders are equipped with the skills needed for effective governance, ensuring that they are well-prepared to lead at the barangay level and beyond. These efforts not only strengthen local governance but also instill in the youth a sense of civic duty and social responsibility, empowering them to be catalysts for change in their communities.

The youth leadership program empowers the youth in nation-building through platforms like the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), KKDAT, and SSLG, which enable youth to advocate and enact community-focused policies. Recognizing the essential role of youth in governance, the Academy addresses their capacity-building needs, providing training in leadership, policy-making, and project management. A key objective is fostering smooth leadership transitions, ensuring new barangay officials inherit robust governance foundations. The Academy’s emphasis on technical skills, performance measurement, and Department of Interior and Local Governance’s (DILG) Seal of Good Local Governance instills accountability and transparency. By investing in youth, the Academy cultivates a generation of responsible leaders dedicated to societal development and stronger communities.
