Isabela State University (ISU) and Howest University of Applied Sciences (Howest) formalized its ties and partnership during the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony on November 7, 2024 at Saint Mary’s University, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

 

The said ceremony was attended by officials and representatives of both ISU and Howest led by Atty. Romano P. Cammayo (Vice President, Administrative and Finance Services) on behalf of Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino (University President) and Mieke Demeyere (Vice President, Education, Students, and Internationalization), respectively.

 

The intention for cooperation between the two (2) Universities began with a common interest in international education and an understanding to strengthen and expand its global relationships. With the signed Memorandum, both Universities aim to pursue academic cooperation in the field of education, research, exchange of students, and exchange of faculty and staff.

 

Moreover, specific arrangements and actions from individual departments, faculties, colleges or units may be drawn up and implemented to maximize the intended framework for cooperation both on an institutional and unit level.

Beginning the cooperation, future activities and agreements will be facilitated by Prof. Isagani P. Angeles, Jr. (University Director for Public Relations, External Linkages and International Affairs) and Katelijne Demeyere (Global Engagement Office, International Office) for ISU and Howest, respectively.

 

To evaluate the outcomes of the partnership, delegations from both institutions will review and assess the current Memorandum and related agreements every three years. The aim is to ensure a balanced exchange between the two institutions over the designated period.
