Senator Maria Imelda Josefa Remedios “Imee” R. Marcos graced the Isabela State University (ISU) during the commencement exercises of its Cauayan Campus on August 6, 2024 at the Isabela Convention Center (ICON), Cauayan City, Isabela.

With decades of experience in local governance that have molded her own distinct brand of proactive and innovative leadership, Senator Marcos was welcomed by the University and campus officials headed by the Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino (University President).

In her message, Senator Marcos commended ISU for its achievements in the recent months and years which includes placement in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and Webometrics, its ISO certifications, recognition from the Commission on Audit (COA), and student performances in licensure examinations.

Senator Marcos also emphasized the pressing problems of students such as the lack of student facilities, highlighting the request of ISU Cauayan for a Student Affairs Building, and the need for scholarships. As she encouraged the community to push forward for the welfare of students, Senator Marcos listed available programs that can help the graduates after the said commencement exercises such as the 19.8 million Kalahi-CIDSS Cash Program for over 487 graduates and students at ISU.

“To all of our graduates, may I first tell you that please do not settle. Continue to dream high, dream big. You’re only limited by your dreams. So certainly, now is the time to try everything. Do not listen to those who say you should not,” Senator Marcos said as she reminded the graduates to not settle and continue to dream and try.

In addition, Senator Marcos shared her hopes for the new generation to make the transformations that their generation failed to make; changes to pay justice that will encompass the society.

Sana yung salinlahi na ninyo ang magbabago at magbibigay sa sambayanang Pilipino,” she hoped.

Finally, banking on her campaign #IMEEsolusyon, Senator Marcos gave her final statement inspiring the graduates to trust in their abilities and capabilities to provide solutions to real-world problems.
