ECHAGUE, Isabela- – Over 2,500 ISUans gathered at the University Amphitheater, Isabela State University- Echague this morning (November 5) for what can be an early Christmas Treat after receiving their financial assistance from Senator Imee Marcos thru the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Sen. Marcos oversaw the distribution of financial assistance to eligible students for the DSWD Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program- Education Assistance; the DSWD Cash-for-Work Project for College Graduates (CFWP-CG) under the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI CIDSS); and the allocation of 10 sets of desktop computer for the ISU-Echague Main Campus.
Through Sen. Marcos’ initiative, 2,000 ISUans were shortlisted to the AICS Program, with an additional 500 for the CFWP-CG Program.
AICS Educational Assistance Program under DSWD offers cash aid to qualified students and individuals who are in tight financial struggle. The CFWP-CG helps fresh college graduates to engage in a three-month work experience within government agencies with wages appropriated by the program.
The distribution happened in the occasion of Sen. Marcos’ natal day in what appears to be a double, special celebration with ISU President Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino.
In a statement, Sen. Marcos dedicated her birthday wish to the success and plight of ISU students.
“Ang birthday gift natin sa araw na ito- dahil naniniwala ako na kapag tinulungan natin ang ating kabataan, hindi tayo kailanman tatanda. Kaya tulong-tulong tayo para sa ating mga kabataan”.
Dedicated to support the continuing academic journey of deserving and qualified students to combat all forms of poverty, the University thru the Office of the Students Affairs and Services assisted in the processing of requirements and applications for the said financial grants.
