ECHAGUE, Isabela– National Dairy Authority (NDA) has conducted an initial site visit for the proposed establishment of a North Luzon-wide satellite office to be lodged in the premises of ISU-Echague Main Campus, this morning (January 24).
University Director for Research and Development Dr. Nilo Padilla, and Executive Secretary Dr. Miguel Aquino accompanied NDA OIC for Northern Luzon Dr. Charito R. Gimeno and her team, for site inspection.
A land area consisting of 2,000 square meters was said to be allotted for the NDA North Luzon office, which can also serve as training site for Artificial Insemination (AI), plus 10 hectares for dairy production of animals.
In a letter forwarded by Dr. Gimeno prior to the visit, the department is willing to enter Usufruct Agreement with ISU.
This was after the recommendation of former ISU’s Vice President for Research and Extension and now Department of Agriculture’s (DA) Assistant Secretary for Livestock, Dr. William C. Medrano, that ISU is able to house the requested land area.
The housing of the North Luzon-wide satellite office will enable the University’s research centers, especially the Dairy Center, AI Center, and Climate Change Center, says Dr. Padilla.
In response, Dr. Gimeno is open for hand-in-hand collaboration with ISU and its research centers, in the advancement of research undertakings.
