ISABELA, PH —The Isabela State University community welcomes the Commissioner Dr. Marita R. Canapi of the Commission on Higher Education in a weeklong stay in Isabela following the conduct of Common Board Meetings of SUCs in the Cagayan Valley.

Dr. Canapi serves as the Chairperson of SUC boards in the region including Batanes State College, Quirino State University, Nueva Vizcaya State University, and the Isabela State University.

As part of her itinerary, ISU has organized her accommodations, which included visits and tours among major landmarks in Isabela.

Following her arrival, ISU delegation led by University President Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino had a tour with the commissioner in Magat Dam and got to witness the research undertakings of ISU with lined-government agencies like with the National Irrigation Authority among other science and technology engagements.

For the succeeding days prior to the Board Meeting, the commissioner got a tour on ISU’s major research centers housed in Echague Main Campus. Dr. Canapi got to see the on-going projects pertaining to agri-based researches and the niche centers on fisheries and water studies.

To ISU President Dr. Aquino, the presence of the ISU Board Chairperson uplifted the “overall academic vibrance” of ISU, saying this implies strong support from the country’s higher education commission to ISU’s academic endeavors.

ISU remains a strong collaborator of CHED in implementing the programs and vision of the national government in honing responsible individuals towards nation-building.
