Isabela State University (ISU) has signed a business agreement with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Korean IIEA (Innopolis Institute Enterprise Association) to establish an overseas base for research institute companies with plans to pursue various activities and planning tasks in the future.
The said agreement was made formal during the 2nd International Smart City Exposition and Networking Engagement (iSCENE) held on April 11-13, 2024 at the Isabela Convention Center, Cauayan City, Isabela.
During the signing, the said parties were represented by its head of officials namely Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino (University President, ISU), Dr. Renato U. Solidum (Secretary, DOST), and Eui-Jung Kim (Chairman, Korean IIEA (Innopolis Institute Enterprise Association)).
With iSCENE putting premium on collaboration among local and international organizations, government, private sector, and the academe, the agreement serves as a testament to reaching its objectives to establish more unique and targeted partnerships towards sustainable development.
Moreover, aside from the business agreement, ISU was also included in a five-year educational plan and cooperation with various universities and city officials in a lecture delivered by Prof. Jong-in Choi of Hanbat National University on Science Park Management and Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation.
