
Isabela State University (ISU) received Kalinga State University (KSU) and the National Economic Development Authority RO2 (NEDA RO2) for a benchmarking activity on April 4, 2025 at the Alba Hall, ISU Echague. The said benchmarking is in line with the goal to gain insights into the University’s current records management practices and system, along with its information and inventory systems.
The delegations from KSU and NEDA RO2 were headed by Nadia K. Bagtang (Records Officer III) and Anthony James Articulo (Chief Administrative Officer, NEDA RO2), respectively. They were received by University and campus officials including Dr. Boyet L. Batang (Vice President, Academic Affairs), Dr. Jay P. Chy (Vice President, Planning and Development), and Dr. Jose P. Gallena, Jr. (Cluster Executive Officer, Echague Campus).
The specific objectives of the benchmarking visit for KSU include the following: to analyze the current practices and systems employed by the University in handing records and archives; to study and understand the best practices that lead to the efficiency, security, and accessibility of records; to revise and improve KSU’s Records Management Manual based on best practices and insights gained; and to evaluate the forms, stamps, and security protocols of the University.
On the other hand, the staff from NEDA RO2 requested the said visit to confer and compare notes with the University’s Information Technology (IT) Department, specifically on the University’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and Supplies and Materials Inventory System (SMIS).
The visit from NEDA RO2 also gave way for recommendations on future agreements and understanding to concretize the cooperation agreement with ISU on these aforementioned information systems.
