Isabela State University (ISU), through the leadership of its University Knowledge and Technology Management Office, hosts and spearheads the 1st International Conference on Sustainable Development in Education, Technology, Agriculture, and Gender and Development (ICSDETAGAD) from March 26–27, 2026 at the ISU Echague Campus.
Anchored on the theme, “Innovating Across Systems: Gender-Responsive Education, Smart Technologies, and Sustainable Agri-Food Futures,” the conference gathers researchers, educators, practitioners, policymakers, and students to present evidence-based practices, share innovations, practice interdisciplinary dialogue, and strengthen collaborative networks among local and international experts.
The two-day international conference is organized in partnership with academic institutions and agencies, including Universitas Negeri Padang in Indonesia, Bulacan State University (BulSU), Saint Louis University (SLU), Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU), University of Perpetual Help System (Isabela), Mountain Province State University (MPSU), Marikina Polytechnic College, the Cagayan Valley Agriculture, Aquatic, and Resources Research and Development Consortium (CVAARRD), the Department of Agriculture – Cagayan Valley Region, and the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC).
Highlights of the conference are plenary sessions led by scholars and experts from Vietnam, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. These sessions are designed to address pressing global challenges and emerging opportunities across key sectors. Among the featured plenary presentations are:
- Reimagining Education for Sustainability: Pedagogical Innovations and Transformative Learning Approaches (Speaker: Dr. Ciptro Handrianto from Universitas Negeri Padang)
- Nature-Based Solutions for Food Security under Climate Change Effects for Sustainable Development in the Mekong Delta (Speaker: Dr. Doan Van Binh from Vietnamese-German University)
- Talent Cultivation and Education on Microelectronics with Biomedical Application (Speaker: Dr. Wen-Yaw Chung from Chung Yuan Christian University)
- From Inclusion to Impact: Integrating Gender and Development in Research (Speaker: Dr. Mark Preston S. Lopez from Mountain Province State University)
- Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Innovation and Digital Transformation in the Academe (Speaker: Dr. Farhan Bin Mohamed from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia)
In addition to plenary sessions, the conference features parallel paper presentations, discussions, and networking activities in line with the fields of Education, Gender and Development, Social Sciences, Business, and Allied Health, Engineering, Computing, and Technology, Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry. These initiatives align with the University’s institutional thrusts on internationalization, research productivity, and inclusive growth.
