Isabela State University (ISU) hosted the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) Technical Working Group (TWG) Workshop on the Conduct of the Regional GAD Agenda 2023–2028 Midterm Review cum RGADC Work Planning last November 13–14, 2025 at the Biazon Hall, ISU Echague Campus.
The two-day live-in workshop gathered concerned RDC2-RGADC members, bringing together participants from regional line agencies, local government units (LGUs), and state universities and colleges (SUCs) across the region. The activity served as a platform for collaborative assessment, planning, and strengthening of regional gender mainstreaming efforts.
The workshop aimed to firm up strategic directions and reinforce commitments as the region marks the midpoint of implementing the Regional GAD Agenda 2023–2028. Specifically, the activity sought to:
- Review and agree on strategic interventions, indicators, and targets under the GAD Strategic Plan (GADSP), focusing on the four gender mainstreaming entry points such as policy, people, enabling mechanisms, and programs, projects, and activities (PPAs);
- Develop an effective monitoring mechanism to capture accomplishments of member-agencies in the implementation of the GADSP;
- Confirm lead agencies, focal persons, and member assignments for each mainstreaming entry point, clarifying roles in data collection, analysis of accomplishments, and preparation of progress reports for submission to the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW);
- Secure commitments from all TWG members to carry out their identified responsibilities in sustaining gender-responsive governance in the region; and
- Formulate the 2026 RGADC Work Plan, outlining priority activities and collaborative initiatives for the coming year.
Through hosting the event, the University continues its commitment to advance gender-responsive policies and practices, strengthening its role as a partner-institution in promoting inclusive and equitable development across Cagayan Valley.
