Isabela State University (ISU), through the College of Computing Studies, Information and Communication Technology (CCSICT) and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), welcomed Prof. Suttisak Jantavongso from Rangsit University in Thailand, for a specialized lecture held on December 9, 2025 at the Alba Hall, ISU Echague.
Prof. Jantavongso (Director of Master International and Lecturer in Information and Communication Technology) delivered a presentation titled, “From Local Seniors to Global Digital Citizens: An Evaluation of Digital Literacy Materials for Thailand’s Aging Population.” The session focused on the evolving digital needs of senior citizens and the role of well-designed literacy materials in empowering them to navigate modern technologies.
Faculty members from CCSICT and CAS under the BS Mathematics Program, representatives from the MIT Society, and presidents of CCSICT-accredited organizations were in attendance, as part of the University’s goal to strengthen its academic exchange and global collaboration.
Prof. Jantavongso emphasized real-world applications and shared practical insights drawn from his work with Thailand’s senior communities. His lecture provided perspectives that extend beyond theoretical frameworks and offered participants a deeper understanding of international practices in digital inclusion.
The said academic engagement is a continuing effort of the University to contribute in intellectual dialogue, promote cross-border learning, and prepare to respond to diverse digital literacy challenges in both local and global contexts.
