Celebrating its perceptive journey towards the future of education, Isabela State University (ISU) commemorated its 46th Founding Anniversary with the theme, ISU@46: TANGLAW – Traversing Achievements, Nurturing Growth, Leading Academic Excellence, and Weaving Legacies on June 6-7, 2024.


The theme for this year’s Founding Anniversary encapsulated the 46 years of ISU as an illuminating instrument for academic breakthroughs and accolades. Looking into the future, the same icon of commitment is hoped to be passed down to oversee ISU’s transgenerational impact within the academic and social community.


The two-day celebration was filled with various events and activities to recognize and highlight the achievements and growth of ISU as a higher education institution. Some of the activities for the first day include:


  • Motorcade

  • Thanksgiving Mass

  • State of the University Address

  • RAISE-Cagayan Valley Technology Transfer Day

  • 2024 University Students’ Festival Celebration

  • ISU Gabi ng Parangal


In her welcome message, Dr. Jay P. Chy (Vice President, Planning and Development), the director-general of the celebration, expressed her gratitude to the commitment and dedication of the ISU community to achieve its vision and mission.


“Today, as we mark this in our journey as a higher education institution, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of you for being a part of this celebration. Your presence signifies your commitment and dedication to the vision and mission of Isabela State University. It is through our collective efforts that we have reached this point, and it is through your continued support that we will achieve even greater heights,” Dr. Chy said.


Additional activities for the second day of the anniversary celebration revolved around socio-cultural events highlighted through the ISU Pasiklaban 2024. It involved different contested activities for faculty and staff such as Retro Dance Competition, Live Band Competition, Song Writing Competition, Visual Arts Competition, Laro ng Lahi and Sports Events, and Mr. and Ms. ASCU-SN 2024.

Guests of honor from the partners of ISU and line agencies were also invited to grace the celebration in recognition of their contributions and engagements with the University.
