The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) awarded the Isabela State University (ISU) Cabagan Campus the NextGen CapDev Accelerator Award in Local Governance at the Capacity Development Accelerator Awards held on December 11-12, 2024 at The Manila Hotel, Philippines.
Each year, the DILG, through the Capacity Development Awards for Catalysts of Excellence (CapDev ACE), searches and recognizes outstanding performances of sector officials and personnel, as part of honoring the exceptional contributions of the people and teams behind DILG’s accomplishments.
Aligned to the Local Government Academy’s (LGA) Partnership Framework for Local Governance Capacity Development, the program also aimed to give appreciation and recognition to innovative programs, projects, and initiatives that strengthen the capacity of Local Government Units (LGU). The CapDev Accelerator Awards has four (4) categories: i. CapDev Accelerator Award in Local Governance; ii. NextGen CapDev Accelerator Award in Local Governance; iii. NextGen Regional Accelerator in Local Governance Award; and iv. CapDev Game Changer Award.
In particular, the NextGen CapDev Accelerator Award in Local Governance, recognizes the potential of institutional partners to empower LGUs and accelerate excellence in local governance. The University was evaluated based on its background, innovation, sustainability, and partnership/synergy.
On behalf of ISU, the award was received by Dr. Jay P. Chy (Vice President, Planning and Development) along with campus officials from the Cabagan Campus.
