The ITSO Franchise started in 2010 through a cooperation agreement with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The initiative aims to promote the development of IPs within academic and research realms, with a specific focus on fostering invention and utility models. Its overarching goals include boosting the national innovation output and enhancing the visibility of Filipino inventions within the international patent landscape.
Similarly, it is designed to enhance assistance for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by providing technical support through ITSOs, aiding MSMEs and local inventors with trademark and patent searches, as well as the drafting of patent, utility model, and industrial design documents.
With four (4) cluster competencies set by ITSO to its members, namely Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, the University aims to reach the Platinum Award for the 2024 Summit.
