Tertiary students around Cagayan Valley who were recipients of Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) scholarship received their grants in the awarding ceremony and orientation this morning, October 24.

Of the 13,529 applicants of the scholarship, 929 “were lucky to be given the academic support”, says Regional CHEd Education Supervisor, Mr. Rey S. Tuddao.

The CHEd Supervisor extended the scholarship is a “consolation [for the students] to finish your studies”. Mr. Tuddao also commended the efforts of the parents in the education of the scholars, promising to aid them along the way.

The scholarship works in two merits, the Half and Full Merit, of each with 7,500 and 15,000 monthly financial grants, respectively. It has gave precedence to applicants who belong to Top 10 in Senior High.

In response, OIC- ISU Main Campus Executive Dr. William Eustaquio assured “ISU will give counterpart in [delivering] tertiary quality education”.

He furthered, “this would inspire students to study hard and achieve their goals”, in turn contributing to the attainment of the university’s vision of “producing globally competent professionals”.

Regional CHEd Education Supervisor Engineer Joven Jacinto, meanwhile oriented the scholars on the CMO 8, series of 2019 “Policies and Guidelines for CHEd Scholarship Programs”.
