Isabela State University (ISU) and the 5th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army joined forces for the unveiling of the 5th Infantry Division Recruitment Office: Application and Management System this Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
This innovative project is a system developed by the faculty and students of College of Computing Studies, Information and Communication Technology (CCSICT) as part of its community efforts and extension partnership with 5th ID to modernize and enhance the recruitment process in the army.
FIDROAMS, a web-based system, streamlines and improves the recruitment system, reducing the challenges faced by candidate soldiers, particularly those from remote areas. The goal is to ensure accurate and efficient selection of candidates enlisted into the regular force of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Atty. Rpomano P. Cammayo, Vice President for Administration and Finance Services, welcomed and commended both the 5th Infantry Division and the researchers for their collaborative efforts. He highlighted ISU’s commitment to technological innovation and progress.
“Our partnership with the 5th Infantry Division remains strong and enduring as we launch this technological innovation that would help the Philippine Army in modernizing its services and operations. By leveraging the synergies between academia and the country’s security force, we are fostering a dynamic ecosystem that nurtures groundbreaking ideas and translates them into tangible societal benefits.”, Atty. Cammayo said.
During an open forum, Lieutenant Colonel Martinez from the Philippine Army praised ISU and BSIT for providing a system that simplifies the recruitment and enlistment process. He suggested offering the system to the Philippine Army for broader use.
“We would like to commend the BSIT for developing such system. We will offer this system to the Philippine Army so hindi na kayo gagastos, hindi na kayo mag start from zero, and magagamit para sa lahat”, said Lt. Col. Martinez.
