The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office II (CHEDRO II), in partnership with Isabela State University (ISU), organized a two-day training activity held via Zoom Teleconferencing on March 25-26, 2025. This activity aims to capacitate the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Region II by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills in pursuing international university rankings, particularly the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.
Mr. Johnray M. Gallena, ISU’s University Section Chief for THE Impact Rankings and Philippine Quality Award, spearheaded the two-day training with his lecture on THE Impact Ranking Methodology and Data Submission Process. On March 25, Mr. Gallena gave an in-depth discussion on the ranking’s methodology, including its key features, current status, evidentiary requirements, and the evidence validation process. While on the last day of the training session, he discussed the participation process for THE Impact Rankings, including the registration, data collection, validation, and submission.
The two-day training activity was attended by participants from various HEIs in Region II, including Cagayan State University (CSU), Quirino State University (QSU), Batanes State College (BSC), University of Cagayan Valley (UCV), Cagayan Valley Computer and Information Technology College (CVCITC), Isabela College of Arts and Technology (ICAT), St. Ferdinand College (SFC), Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines (MCNP), La Patria College (LPC), Kings College of the Philippines (KCP), and more.
