Isabela State University (ISU) and the Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi (RUS) of the Kingdom of Thailand had its ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 21, 2025 at the RUS Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Huntra Campus.

The ISU delegation was received by Wanida Wongbannakhom (Assistant to the President, RUS) on behalf of Dr. Pramuk Unahalekhaka (President, RUS). During the event, both Universities presented their background, accomplishments, and offerings and proceeded to the signing and discussion of the said memorandum.

The MOU entered by both Universities allows the parties to pursue objectives such as: developing programs through collaborations that suit the needs of students, including those enrolled in programs such as Agriculture, Fisheries, Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Information Technology, Health Sciences, Hospitality and Tourism Management; developing mobility programs for students and faculty to provide opportunities for further study abroad; and providing opportunities for students and faculty for cultural and educational exchanges.

In his online message and participation, Dr. Boyet L. Batang (Vice President, Academic Affairs), expressed that the exchange and understanding between the Universities not only elevates the quality of research but also enhances the reputation of participating institutions on a global scale.

“As we move forward, let us embrace the spirit of collaboration that transcends borders. The complexities of today’s world require us to work together more than ever before. By fostering international partnerships by this MOU, we can therefore address global challenges, promote innovation, and build a more inclusive future for all or for both universities; and let us therefore commit ourselves to this noble endeavor because together, we are stronger,” Dr. Batang said.

Following the discussion of the MOU, possible collaborations were discussed for the fields of agriculture and business administration. For agriculture, plans included the sharing of papers and researches on animal science and DNA engineering as well as inviting faculty from RUS to serve as evaluators on the ISU Linker (The Journal of Emerging Research in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry).

On the other hand, for business administration, both Universities will meet with their respective representatives to discuss specific activities including, but not limited to, the invitation of guest lecturers and sending of exchange students and interns.
