ISU-SM launches Adopt-a-School Program

The Isabela State University San Mateo Campus Extension and Training Services in partnership with the San Mateo South District, San Mateo, Isabela launched the adopt-a-school program entitled “Tutorial Program in Electronics, Electricity, Garments, Visual Arts, Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, Science, and Computer Literacy” for the Alternative Learning System Learners on August 4, 2012 in Isabela State University Computer Laboratory 3.

This program aims “to improve the quality of Education and to develop the skills of the ALS learners of San Mateo South Districtin Technical Education. Dr. Mirriam V. Barangan, the South District Supervisor and Mr.Romeo S. Noto, the ALS Coordinator together with Dr. Leon M. Gonzales, ISU – San Mateo Campus Administrator and Mrs. Betchie E. Aguinaldo, ISU – San Mateo Campus RDET coordinator, enteredto a Memorandum of Agreement on July 26, 2012 at the South District Office, San Mateo, Isabelato specific the duties and responsibilities of both parties.

            During the opening program, Mrs.Betchie E. Aguinaldo, RDET coordinator delivered her opening remarkswhereas Dr. Leon M. Gonzales welcomed the participants. Mr.Romeo S. Noto in the absence of Dr. Mirriam V. Baranganshared his inspirational message to the ISU – San Mateo Extensionist and ALS learners. In addition, Mr. Kelvin Gonzales introduced the 21 ALS Learners who are registered in the program and Prof. Jenalyn C. Andres introduced the lecturers.

According to Mrs. Raquel Ordoñez, one of the proponents of the said program, the tutorial will be conducted every Saturdayfrom August 11, 2012 until October 13, 2012 after which a recognition ceremony will be held.
