1. Climate Change Adaptation Strategies For Agriculture In Community Watersheds Of Cagayan River Basin is being implemented by ISU as the lead agency, the Ifugao State State University and the Department of Agriculture – Region 02 with the cooperation of International Crop Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics, BSWM, DOST-PAGASA and LGUs. Started in 2011 and will end in 2014, the project is funded by DA-BAR.
Component Study: Development and Introduction of Optimal and Sustainable Farming Systems in Drought Prone Pilot Community Watersheds.
The following were accomplished:
Developed a suitable and climate change adaptive farming calendar for rainfed and drought prone areas;
Developed various menu/option of optimal farming systems model incorporating suitable drought tolerant crops/livestock and soil and water conservation strategies to ensure sustainability
Showcased various farming systems model develop in community watershed setting; Experimental area established at the back of CVARRD building
Introduced a holistic approach to community watershed management;
