Institute of Information and Communication Technology

The growing demands for IT education and in support to the country’s thrust toward globalization paved the way for the establishment of the Institute of Information and Communication Technology in the main Campus of Isabela State University. Its evolution started from the offering of Information and Communication Technology programs through ISU-GMAP tie-up effective 2001 – 2003 under the supervision of the College of Engineering at the Isabela State University, Echague Campus. It started administering three academic programs; BS Information Technology, 2-year Computer Programming and 2-year Computer Secretarial.
After two years of its operation, by virtue of Board Resolution No.62, series of 2003, ICT programs in all campuses were institutionalized. For one school year, SY 2003 – 2004, the administration of the three academic programs was transferred to a newly created ICT department under the College of Engineering.
With the growing population in the three programs, the creation of a new institute came into a realization. From a department status, by virtue of Board Resolution No.49, series of 2005, it became the Institute of Information and Computer Technology.
The Institute of Information and Communication Technology is an Educational Institution committed to its three pronged vision of continually sharing knowledge and expertise through teaching, engaging in Information Technology research and product development, and rendering service in communities in need.
The Institute underscored relevant and progressive curriculum, a faculty roster of competent  academicians and industry practitioners, modern laboratory and state-of the-art equipment in the formation of highly-skilled, morally-grounded, and service-oriented IT professionals.
IICT upholds the tradition of excellence embodied by the ISU’ans education. Through its intensive undergraduate programs that emphasize actual implementation of theories and project-oriented and real-world environment, equipping its students to became tomorrow’s leader in industry, academe and government.
Through its innovative, creative programs and receptive to the changing demands of technology, the Institute is now working with its proposals to offer a new academic program: the offering of the Bachelor in Library Science major in IS, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), Master in Information Technology (MIT) & Doctor in Information Technology (DIT) that would catalyze the development of asynchronous learning environments for the enhancement of the conventional on campus classes as well as in fostering effective distance learning in networked communities.
Among the biggest achievements of the Institute were the earning of the BSIT program an accredited level II status given by the AACCUP, achieved a 100% student passing rate in all concluded National Competency Assessments conducted by TESDA, garnered the Grand Champion in the Computer Programming Competitions (Web Programming, Database Programming, Graphics and Animation) in the recently concluded Regional IT Fair participated by Computer Schools in the Region last March 2011, and the large number of its graduates who have assumed key-positions not only in the Philippine IT Industry but abroad as well.

Provides each student an equal opportunity to develop their computer skill based on the current relevant curricula. This scholastic preparation associated with different extra-curricular activities and other related matter in research, extension and research generation is necessary to build knowledge and experience to establish a powerful foundation in computer and information system. Through this, the institute shall produce technological-oriented, globally competent and effective IT graduate imbued with moral values in their chosen profession.
