College of Teacher Education

The Teachers College was officially structured in January 1983 with its formal classes on June of the said year. The college initially started with two undergraduate programs- Bachelor  of Science in Agricultural Education (BSAEd) and Bachelor of Science in Home Technology (BSHT) and two secondary programs- Laboratory High School and Science High School as training ground for practice teaching. Responding to the  current demands for teachers in elementary and secondary levels, the Board of Regents approved in its resolution number 09, series of 1985 the offering of Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) and two-year Post-Secondary Home Arts Technician (PSHAT) and implemented in June of 1986.
The University policy on “Flagship” concept in academic programs was instituted.
Cabagan Campus was identified as center for Teachers College as well as the College of Forestry, School of Development Communication and Provincial Technical Institute in Agriculture.
The College gauged its sustained development for excellence in education through accreditation. As a measurement of its growth, and in rallying for quality education in this part of the country, the College successfully undertook two accreditation levels within a period of six (6) months in the same year. The first was on January 17 to 19, 1996. Today, its sustained growth is envisioned for the accreditation level.
